We have been seeing each other on a regular basis from February 2006 but on May 1st, 2006, we started going out “officially”.

The conversation took place at the dining room in the Tasik Jaya house. My parents were sorting out some utility bills and we were at the dining table, chatting.

He (looking nervous) :Can I go out with your daughter?

Mum (looks up) : Go-lah 

Me : Aiyoh! They don’t understand what you mean by “going out”

He (tries again) : Go out as in “date” …. as in “pak tor”

Mum (looks up again, surprised): ok

Well, that was 12 years ago!

Today, being a public holiday because it’s Labour’s Day, I had to go for the BCM open day and he had to go to Malacca. We only got to go on our date at 11pm. We decided to go to A&W because it’s opened 24 hours! Plus, I would really love a Root Beer Float. I wanted to try out their special Chicken Mushroom burger but was told that the promo ended. I had 2 pieces of fried chicken, instead.
